Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, in America's eyes, into the class of child prodigies. The traits she displayed were normal for an Irish-born child surrounded by talented parents and a loving family. Maureen was welcomed into this cherished haven located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and owned shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers, a soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons complete this wonderful family. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and was a gruelling athlete in games as a child. Furthermore her talent, she also had a knack to act. She was awarded nearly all Feis Award for Theatre and Drama that her country had to provide. At age fourteen, she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her ambition was to study operatic singing as well as classical theater.
